This is excellent insight.... but for those of us who said.... 'hang on, we should wait and see' all the way back in 2018 and were roundly condemned for 'not being feminists' and 'undermining #MeToo' - this insight comes a little late. Where was the moderate centre view back when it mattered? Back before we threw Mr Depp's career under the bus in a fit of pique and called out anyone who supported him. JK Rowling was already fair game back then and by daring to allow him to remain in his job on her film, she became villain of the century.

Funnily enough, those articles which eviscerated Mr Depp (and there were plenty of them on Medium at the time) have been deleted or removed. People need to get better at spotting when they're jumping ahead of legal process and when they don't have enough evidence or insights to make a judgment call. That isn't really how the whole #MeToo movement played out... something I warned about back in 2018 in my Nazis in our Classes article
