This is interesting stuff and fascinating reading because I also work in mental health and have plenty of friends who do so - but I've come here deliberately because I do that when people comment on my stories, just to see what they're about. With 30 years of psychology practice behind you, I have no doubt you'll be able to pick me out of a Penguin identity parade..

I can see you're relatively new because there's a small number of followers. Don't sell your writing short by not including a picture, intriguing title and fun subheading. There is nothing worse on this platform than watching well-presented dross float to the surface whilst really interesting insights and fascinating pieces loiter are under-read.

This is one such piece.

Remember to use all the psychology tricks at your disposal to lure readers in - and then once you've got them there, hit them with your already excellent content. It took me two years to learn to do this but I'm determined the next batch of interesting and talented indie writers don't flounder the way I did.

For what it's worth, the UK system is also entirely overwhelmed with much of what you've described here being the reason for psychologist burn out. We keep flinging youth at the problem then wondering why they all go off with stress. Never a good strategy. Keep up the good work and keep writing! :o)
