This is why I’m a penguin. In a meritocracy the best writing wins out, that’s how it should be – a push for equality should be a push for equality of opportunity, not equality of outcome. Social engineering almost always backfires and this story will do nothing for BAME writers or communities in the long term, at best a Pyrrhic victory, at worst a terrifying insight into the process of enforcing tolerance with intolerance.
