This place is hilariously contradictory - it folllows a capitalist model, which some of the very left writers rally against - Caitlin Johnstone being one of them. Rage against the machine, but also buy me a coffee... it's comedy gold.

And for a while it was worse - far worse. I don't mind a meritocracy, I don't really mind capitalism as a force either, though I do feel it should be held in check a little - but for a while, this place was a hot-bed of professional lefty journalists all giving each other cushy spots in Medium owned publications. It was a complete oligarchy pretending it was the epitome of moral virtue.
