Unlikely since I'm British but I appreciate the sentiment. As I said... mitigating circumstances were not available and don't matter to the discussion.

Believing someone has sexually assaulted women and tried to steal a baby - doesn't give you carte-blanche to commit assault. I could say I believe that you hang around street corners and molest dogs and punch you in the face and feel justified. That's not how the law works - and such things play into existing biases which can include racial prejudice. If I firmly believe that people with two letter acronyms instead of full names on Medium molest dogs - it doesn't make me objectively right. That's the situation here.

Now if what you've alleged is true and is admissable in a court of law, those mitigating circumstances can be considered. Until that point and until it is established beyond reasonable doubt that such things happen, the young black man in question is not a criminal. That is also true of Pentland, the two are equal citizens and must be treated fairly by any decent society.
