Very glad you two have found each other...makes for some interesting reading.

I think the US and UK/Europe have a very different experience with some underlying similarities. The US is a far more dangerous place overall for both men and women.... but it does also have a tendency to export itself as the only place on earth where there is a valid answer.

I used to enjoy both Jgln and Beau, both have since blocked me for challenging them for running the sort of back-slapping circle Simon alluded to. I'm not a fan of the 'sort it out yourselves' approach for men - because I don't see feminism as a male/female issue. I see it as 'gender egalitarianism' and that means any changes have to be approached by both sexes in a non-gendered way for progress to be made.

That's not the way Jgln or Beau approach it, Jgln is more of a populist and Beau tends to cherry pick her battlefield and her stats and both rely heavily on the cavalry of the fanbase. I have referred to it as faux-feminism because I think it directly undermines the goals of what feminism sets out to achieve, albeit in a low level way. I think there are more interesting writers here in the UK, people like Elicia Jane - and I think SC is an interesting feminist who should write more than she does (hint hint) to address the imbalance being alluded by Simon, a term I've called femagoguery.

Good luck in your ongoing debate, lovely to see you out here in the wild and not causing trouble on my wall. :o)
