We agree in principle and you are right that the system is flawed — but kicking billionaires is easy. Trying to convince people that giving their money to charity is wrong and they should be more supportive of tax rises instead is a harder argument to make. If all the people who voted centre-right for the tax benefits but then gave money to charities to feel better voted centre left — the world would likely be a better place.
I’m not entirely familiar with the New Deal stuff (I’m a Brit) but I will look into it — love finding out new stuff. We created the NHS in 1947, which we are still clinging onto despite the best efforts of our current Prime Minister to flog it to your President and his drug companies.
