We don't disagree on that much. And yes... healing takes time, your metaphor largely makes sense but only if you assume that people exercising their democratic right to disagree with you constitutes bullying. Which I'd argue it doesn't.
Emotional pain can be worse than physical pain - any therapist will tell you that, however society has moved to a position where perceived victimhood is divorced from the reality of the situation. What pain has been inflicted on you personally, other than any mental pain you have inflicted on yourself as a result of your thought process about Republicans?
Thinking, influences behaviours which influences thinking. CBT. The problem is not with Republicans of Democrats per se, it's with how the democrats and republicans think. Sure, there may be some genuine victims who have been bullied or intimidated by a Republicn government - but the vast majority of histrionics around this subject isn't that. Mostly it is in the minds of people determined to insist their emotional distress must be valid and is caused by 69 million other people not agreeing with them.
I'm enjoying our back and forth - and you're pleasant to debate with, but I'd recommend going and reading some CBT textbooks and or some Stoic philosophy to quell your political passions. We're both left wingers glad that Donald Trump is gone, but I've seen nothing in your argument that meaningfully progresses the democrat cause.
