We have three Ukranians next door... they are 'our Ukranians' and we have been hosting film nights and food nights and I have been giving the shyest one English lessons (Thanks TEFL). This story really resonated because I am already worrying about Christmas, they all have families back in Ukraine and although they love being here, their hearts and their minds are often elsewhere. I'm worried that the pull will become too much and then, like you, I will understand but it will worry me deeply. I have become attached to 'our Ukrainians'
