Well... perhaps, but then any non-sequitur would work. 'I support queer rights but then I'm occasionally a mongoose at weekends' might be just as acceptable. The issue here is accepting everything presented by any individual without question. A conflation between agreement without dissent and support when the two are not the same thing....

As an example, here's a caveat I add. I support queer-rights BUT a society must balance the rights of different subgroups when they are in direct conflict. I don't think there's anything controversial in that statement.... if we remove the right of people to question the rights of others to assert a moral absolute then we lead society down a fairly questionable path.

So I support queer rights BUT I reserve the right to continue to ask questions and maintain a fierce independence in the face of absolutism. :o)
