Well this sucks, you're one of my favourite writers to be around, debate with and read. I'm also feeling somewhat stifled by the Medium Boost programme and the Russian Roulette with my time. I also know that my fighty flightless bird pieces are going to wither on the vine instead of generating good discussion from across the political spectrum as they used to do here in the good old days. I'm afraid I rather lost hope when Remi was interviewed by the Medium elite, after 30 seconds on the platform with writing that was objectively weak and retrospectively turned out to be AI generated. It signalled Medium is struggling to discern quality thought from popular thought and that's never a good thing.

Perhaps I'll drag my flightless ass over to Substack at some point, but I'm buggered if I can be bothered to learn another platform on top of the day job and my creative writing commitments. I'll be sad to see you go, you're one of the old crew and we grew up at Medium together as frenemies and buddies. Medium's loss is Substack's gain - and the platform needs to pay some attention when quality writers head out the door and AI bot pieces are given standing ovations. It doesn't bode well. :o/
