What Nyk and Tim said.... learning models need to be updated and testing needs to be updated too. We have a problem with the validity checking of information... children can theoretically copy and paste entire wikipedia articles into their essays - they may even (if they're smart) consider rewriting the wikipedia article in their own words.

What they need to be taught is how to cross reference wikipedia and question the motivations of those at wikipedia for writing the information. These are more important skills than knowing the date of XYZ, which can easily be looked up on the average phone.

On a wikipedia based note, I saw someone had changed to Nadine Dorries entry to include the phrase "Nadine is thicker than a Boxing Day turd" and I thought you'd appreciate that phrasing. :o)
