Yeah... one of the other commenters asked me if I would be okay with Hitler having Twitter, as though this was a crucial debate winning point. The reality is that I want my hateful bigots and idiots out in the open where I can see them. If Hitler had gone on social media instead of being sent to prison and writing Mein Kampf, he would've remained a ridiculous and out of touch little bellend and got nowhere. You don't get rid of a problem by forcing it into the shadows, you just make it a) invisible and b) smarter.

I'm also sitting on the sidelines on this one - I couldn't give a crap what happens to Twitter, I hope it becomes a massive dumpster fire of angry liberals and angry conservatives - at least if they're over there, they won't start building Medium careers and getting in my way.... though, I'd say I'm a little more robust than the average tweet when it comes to critique - as are most of my readers from all ends of the political spectrum. Twitter to Medium is a bumpy ride I reckon.
