Remember when Marlon Brando went off on one about the treatment of Indigenous Americans? That was ‘tone deaf’ at the time. It was also, just his opinion. I’d much rather live in a world where people voice their opinions, they can be challenged by other opinions without fear of having their livelihoods threatened. Otherwise you’ll move toward whimsical Puritanism a la Chris Pratt. Nobody ever died because of someone else’s opinion, they die because of other peoples actions and inflammatory politics. And nothing inflames politics better than whimsical morality.
