Yes, but you can’t statistically report feelings, you can generalise based on experience - it might be the case men feel bloody awful about taking time off but under report it. It might be that women lie. It might be that women are fine taking time off and also lie. What can be measured is the days lost to sickness - and as the stats show more days are lost to sickness for women (for whatever reason) than for men. That was the second and more important point, it comes with zero judgement about how, why and feelings about it - it’s just the point made by the OP is observably not true. That was my hesitation based on my own experiences of workplaces and the stats back up my hesitancy around this assertion.
