Yes! This! That's the problem. I'm interested in nuanced and thoughtful writing from all spheres of Medium - but if I click something, it's like entering a different space on the Venn diagram - which suddenly gives me access and recommendations to all the same people who broadly align with the person I've just read, but are the ersatz version I didn't ask for.

For every decent article I read (and I've started to use 'explore topics' to find things off the beaten track) I will be served a mountain of pap in a similar vein. It becomes a chore to try and wade through the consequences of my curiosity. :o/
