Yes. Which begs the question why do a reboot? I don’t have a problem with the concept of the show, there are plenty of shows that have dealt with race relations and done so very well. This seems like a marketing ploy to generate some sort of publicity for the show. The show itself will live and die under its own steam. If it’s a hilarious comedy then it’ll stand the test of time - Fresh Prince of Bel Air style. If it’s a cynical attempt to hijack a political zeitgeist and grab a virtue signalling white audience… then it won’t be relevant in about 2 years time, it’ll be sanitised away to suit their tastes and be cancelled when middle class white folks get bored. I haven’t seen the show so I don’t know how good or bad it is - but I can tell you for certain that political statement TV doesn’t last. Except perhaps MASH, but that was exceptionally well written and toward the very latter end of Vietnam.
