You absolutely should; and yes the original legal ruling for Roe was very flawed, that's covered in my 'Alito is right' article linked at the top of this one. That particular court stepped over the bounds of what it was supposed to do and made a moral judgment that moved the court from it's initial job and into a political chess match. There is a sensible middle ground position that most of Europe (where I live) has managed to legislate itself towards.

I think if there were better social outcomes for young mothers then abortion may not be the entirely desired choice most of the time- but that means a gradual change towards better social care and more *whispers* socialism. Having said that, I'm pro-choice (until around week 24) because I think women are capable of making the right choice for their lives and I think 'because the mother wants not to have a baby' is a valid reason for terminating a pregnancy - my own view is that science is best placed to tell us where that line should be drawn. It's currently week 24 for socio-economic reasons and then higher limits for medical reasons.

You should write your own article - because I think there's a middle ground to be struck here - be prepared for the backlash. Middle ground articles rarely please anyone. :o)

Thanks for dropping by!
