You and me both. It’s like a neighbour asking if they can cut down some of the apple tree that overhangs their garden. When you say yes, they come round, set fire to the tree, napalm your lawn and kill all your pets. Sure… the problem of the overhanging branch can be solved this way but its not what was agreed to in the initial discussion.

I’m still a left leaning moderate, but now I have to vocalise arguments against those further ideologically left than I am. That’s a shame because we often have the same eventual aim… but I’ve got some secateurs for those branches not a surface to air missile.
