You appear to have me confused with some right-wing religious voter from the Southern States. So let me state very clearly that I'm a) pro choice and b) British. I have some complicated views on abortion and you might want to familiarise yourself with them - because I don't think the picture is as simple as you've suggested, if it were then Roe v Wade would've settled things - and it didn't, it opened up a can of worms and the problems inherent within a democratic system. For what it's worth, my views align broadly with Bader-Ginsberg, the thrust of the moral cake is correct, the ingredients with which you've made them wasn't and democracy is democracy, we cannot throw away shit we don't like just because we don't like the flavour of the cake. There are rules. Much as I don't like the rules by which Trump stacked the supreme court, I also don't like that the original Roe v Wade case grabbed law out of nowhere. Here is an article about bodily autonomy which will also likely make you furious... but it does contain the answer to your questions. https://medium.com/p/6703fb59618e
I would humbly suggest if the religious right is going to insist on restrictions on abortion then it needs to step up and provide better funding for mothers. It has created a situation where the choice of their fellow citizens has been restricted — they have created the legal framework they want and must shoulder some of the social consequences which stem from it.
I would argue the duty of care of unwanted children remains with them in the short term. Foster care and adoption systems need to be better and turning a blind eye to future societal troubles as though the two are not correlated is problematic and negligent.
I have deliberately not talked about rights of women to abort children of rape and incest which are far more common than most people think. That insight comes fresh from the world of social work and you’re all welcome. Society has a dark underbelly that most of you will be fortunate enough never to see.
Pregnancy stemming from rape and incest are both examples of infringement on bodily autonomy of women and girls. I am hardline pro-choice in these situations.
