You cannot argue for more non-white representation in politics and then complain when you don't get the right sort and they don't agree with your message or your world view. The truth is that the Conservative Party has done an excellent job of diversifying its MPs and the membership has done a great job in electing them to leadership roles - this is what progress looks like, one facet of progress at least.

The truth is that identity matters far more to the political left than the right - ironic given they've never managed to have anything more than a female interim leader in Beckett and Harmon, and an asian Mayor of London anywhere near power.

What matters to the Conservatives - and indeed to Kemi Badenoch (and her banker-wanker husband) is money. She is the embodiment of what I've been banging on about for a long time, skin colour and facets of identity are not important and what is actually oppressing people is poverty. Labour are not doing a great job of winning the culture war in champagne socialist circles and should get back to doing just plain socialism. Move the money from people like Sunak, Rees Mogg and Badenoch into fairer tax systems and then distribute it to poor people.

We do not need to get consistently bogged down with identity. It doesn't matter as much as the centre seems to presume and it leaves the left vulnerable to counter-attack on all sorts of issue. Can you really see Starmer challenging Badenoch on race issues? How will that play in the champagne circles of Kensington? It's a mess and the left have made it that way.
