You won’t get shot dealing with black people, you will get Black people shot. It’s very easy to be an ally to the loudest voices, but such a position requires you to be sure the loudest voices are correct.
I am a feminist because I believe in the equal rights of men and women, not because it’s trendy to hate men. I would love to usher in a world free from racism but that requires a psychological leap away from skin colour as an important indicator of anything other than melanin levels. In my real life I work with disaffected and disadvantaged people and help them use the law to challenge institutions.
You have mistaken a commitment to common sense and legal argument as ‘whiteness’ and that is because ‘whiteness’ can mean whatever you want it to mean in the context of an argument…. But what it really means is, any other way of thinking that isn’t yours. If I’m white you win by default, if I’m Black then I’ve internalised whiteness because of oppression. If I’m mixed race, Asian or Jewish then it’s proximity to whiteness.
Minority groups, particularly those not protected by an erudite middle class need to consider carefully who advocates for them and what their motivations are. It’s a deal with the devil to join clueless bourgeoisie high on it’s own moral perfume.
