Your arguments for marriage are absolutely valid and I think it will drop away as the financial imbalances between the sexes equal themselves out over the next fifty years or so.

Your brain is designed to process information by categories, it's what helps us function quickly in society. You make generalisations based on rubrics of what people do.... but it's exactly that intutive thinking that can lead to problems with racism and sexism. It is understanding and overcoming this very human thought process that will end the various isms... making a concerted effort to overcome this tendency and focus on the individuality of the person.

So instead of seeing skin colour and making problematic assumptions, you find out that someone is a chef and you make a more benign set of assumptions - ones that may overlap with your own experience. You might not like them very much, but at least that's based on them being a chef and not on them being a different colour to you. Then you work out why you're prejudiced against chefs.

It will not take you long to work out which human I am. The clues are there. You're welcome to give it a go - and when you think you've got an answer, DM me and I'll deny it or confirm it. As long as you promise to keep it a secret :o)
