You're bang on. It's good for both parties but better for the right - and it's swinging that way already. The left is split into two, those people who are already economically empowered but who vote left for social reason - and those who vote economically left because they are in poverty but don't really care about the social justice causes.

Identity politics has been the best way to split the left vote - and the Right have taken a lot of their core 'white working class voters' away in the swing states. You can make a perfectly valid argument that all BIPOC people are disadvantaged comparatively with all white folks - but you're going to have a hard time proving this in any other way other than rhetorical. People in poverty don't give a crap about rhetoric, they just want a better life - and that's what the Right is promising them. The right is lying of course, but the left is lying to itself.
