You’re entitled to clap and not clap whatever you wish in whatever multiples you like – I don’t mind. Rocking up to say you disagree and that it’s gaslighting and a straw man argument feels a little disingenuous…. A little like saying ‘you’re wrong but I can’t be bothered to explain why’ with a sort of laissez-faire and lofty approach to debate where your word supersedes mine without having to demonstrate any of your working out.

This article is a little tongue in cheek and provoking but that’s sort of the point. Feel free to head over to ‘what we all lose when society plays identity politics’ for why I think IP undermines classic liberalism and puts the brakes on socialism – something I believe is far better than anti-racism as a strategy for helping BIPOC.

Ultimately though, you don’t have to. That is the benefit of a pluralistic society which allows the expression of many views. As long as the discourse remains pleasant (and you haven’t been rude at all) then there’s no harm and no foul. Disagreement is always welcome.
