You’re presuming the age of consent is fixed, but it’s not. The age of consent varies across the world from around 11 to 18. Cultural differences make this a contentious issue across the word with no real fixed rules.

Western society also tacitly accepts children having sex with each other (within reason) so the whole thing is a complicated grey area. When you throw unthinking and loud people into this sort of minefield there’s a real danger they’ll lead society down a blind alleyway.
